How much does testosterone effect aggressiveness in FTM transitioning?

My boyfriend is a trans man who is just getting started on his transitioning. He hasn't started T yet, but my worry is that he will become much more aggressive. I don't want to address this to him for fear of making him feel that I'm not supportive of his identity (which I completely am). Has anyone gone through this or know someone who has? How much can T change personality?How much does testosterone effect aggressiveness in FTM transitioning?
It really varies. However, in time aggressiveness will become less noticeable as he becomes used to being on T. In a transsexual person hormone replacement therapy does NOT change personality. Once started on HRT most of us feel calmer and mentally whole for the first time. As a result we often become easier to get along with as we are happier with ourselves.



So have patience. T may be a little be of a ride at first, but things should smooth out pretty quickly.

Transman chipping in here, and your fear is a pretty common one. Luckily though, testosterone does not turn a person into some sort of wild and crazy monster man!



The changes are different for everyone, and so long as he's being watched by a competent doctor you two shouldn't notice any dangerous changes.



Common ';side effects'; to taking T can be increased (or decreased) sex drive, higher energy levels, changes in level of concentration, spontaneous happiness (he'll probably get random little thrills for the first few months while his voice drops), and overall a feeling of accomplishment.



People like to try and blame negative actions, thoughts, or situations on the T, but it's not the T's fault... uh, ever! My college's doc tried to blame my T for a viral infection knocking me on my butt... don't let anyone con you into believing that if something does change in him or goes wrong that's because of the T. If his levels are in the safe zone, it's something else.



T doesn't change your personality, it just makes your life less angst fueled.
Tell your girlfriend, that it might not make her more aggresive, but once she takes it, she probably might want sex with you more.



It will definatly change her personality, a lil more aggressive, but rarely is she going to end up in a womans prison for beating you up
