Will my dog change if we bring home a puppy?

Yes, i have asked this question before but i forgot to add on information, and people have seem to have confused the information I have given them. My current 3 year old poodle is a BETA FEMALE. She KNOWS we have control over her and she understands it (We think she was from a puppy mill and was transferred to the pound) She LOVES people and dogs (She is the one of the best dogs I've ever met) and gets along with any dog that is willing to play with her. I want a weimaraner puppy who will be alpha (because of their personality) and will show our dog. My mom is UNWILLING to get a male puppy, so it has to be female. Our dog is hyper and a people-person, just like Weim's are. We are going to call some people in PA whose puppies are available in late June. We have dealt with somewhat of a puppy and know enough on how to raise a puppy. I was just wondering if any one has had experiences with bringing home a puppy to a beta dog %26amp; if/how the current dog personality changed. Will my dog change if we bring home a puppy?
Yes, we had a yellow lab 5 year old girl who was trained to be super careful around people and is very beta. Her name is Shasta and when she was 5 we brought home an alpha female puppy Roxy who was also a yellow lab. Roxy wanted to play, but the older one Shasta did not want to and did not like being around Roxy. We gave lots of attention to the older one Shasta because we felt bad, but then she became more and more depressed. We talked to our vet and he said to give the attention to the Alpha dog, Roxy first and then pay attention to the Beta one, Shasta. We tried that, and we fed the puppy first and pet her first, and then we did things for the older one Shasta. It seemed sad in the beginning, but they gradually began to get along better. Now Roxy is five and the older one Shasta is 10. They aren't best friends, but they get along alright and lay by eachother now. I think as long as you give attention to the Alpha dog first, and then the Beta, they should get along fine. Hope this helps! Will my dog change if we bring home a puppy?
as long as you give your older dog the same affection and love as you give the puppy your dog will not change and your dog may even teke the puppy under its wing (so to speak) so share your love and attention evenly and everything will be OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
Depends on the dog, I know you say shes good but that could change real quick. You won't really know until you bring the puppy home. Animals are unpredictable creatures.
Yes,your dog will change UNLESS your dog is the same type here's a story abotu what happened with two dogs: One day this cable lady came by she wanted us to watch this dog for one night we did it ended up being for eleven days.We named it Buddy(.Chubby.) That was his original name.So...We had already had a dog named Angel as well thought it would be good for my older dog to be a ro-model but that was a bad idea Angel would bite, pick up ,and bark at Buddy what I am trying to tell you the only way they will get along is if they are the same breed.~Good Luck~ Stephie.
With alpha dogs you should get a one of the opposite sex. Female dogs are almost always the top one of the pack. I've got a 30LB rat terrier, 113LB great dane and a 40LBS border collie, all boys. My 13LBS female rat terrier is the boss and she puts everybody in there place.
Since both the dogs are female, there should be no amount of violence between them. let them get acquainted on their own even if there is a little biting. My birds, although birds are still animals, got used to each other very slowly. But they did it. Your older dog may get a little hostile towards you and the other dog but that's natural. She's jealous. Let it progress.
