Is it possible to hop from one personality type to another, or change traits as per social requirement?

What could be possible hidden dangers associated if it is possible?

Also how should we react if our Id (or ego) is threatened by contrary reports to our self image or fundamental belief... does that lead to unwanted change in personality? Is it possible to hop from one personality type to another, or change traits as per social requirement?
Sure, sociopaths are a good example. They can be very charismatic and charming when they want to be then change into a wife beater or serial murder later that night. An introvert may become more out going when under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Some people are more sensitive to criticism than others therefore, not all ego's are fragile. Some of us are confident in our abilities and easily cast off aspersions as jealous remarks by insecure individuals. We should react to negative comments by considering the source. Is it possible to hop from one personality type to another, or change traits as per social requirement?
You need to make time to study and make time to read your psychology book..You still have time before college classes start again...

You can start by looking in the psychology book index under Dis-associative disorder..

Good luck
No, it is not possible. Some people seem to be able to ';flick a switch'; and alter their personality, but all they do is put up facades. The part of your question that mentions ';...per social requirement'; makes the personality ';hopping'; much more viable. If one were to search deep within themselves, they would discover that their subconscious never falters. Their conscience will only live to serve itself, and if that means to alter the outward ';appearance'; that others perceive, then, so be it. As far as how to react to negativity caused by sudden personality changes? The angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other indicate that life's full of choices, and who we ';really'; are is defined by the choices we make.

I personally believe that ';bad'; people are bad because they're afraid to try to be good, and ';good'; people are good because they're afraid to be bad, which all leads back to upholding how people perceive them in the first place.
