Depression can also cause a wide variety of physical complaints, such as gastrointestinal problems (indigestion, constipation or diarrhea), headache and backache. Many people with depression also have symptoms of anxiety.

Yes, personality does undergo some changes as a result of a life threatening event like cardiac surgery. Whether or not the change is permanent depends pretty much on the person. For the most part, the underlying personality resumes within 2 to 3 years. But there is no guarantee that it will ever be exactly as it was.
well a near death experience can really change someone so you never know if they will change, when they will or if they'll change back
My Dad had 4 heart attacks and a triple by pass, the personality change should be expected because they probably feel there own mortality and they have been thru so much. Probably dosent feel good and it takes a while to recover. But the good new is that they will recover and they will and can live a long healthy life, he or she will need to get over the fear that something might happen. When they start to feel better they will act like there old self. It takes a while .
their personality may change with them wonder ';why me'; or it may change with them appriciating their second chance alot more....regarless after any major surgery like that it can throw a person off...give it some time and maybe a counclor to talk to
