For example: an introvert in a people oriented career. Is it possible to change ones' inborn personality traits? I find myself in this situation and it feels as if I'm always ';swimming against the current'; -- going against my natural tendencies and being under constant stress from having to function outside my comfort zone. I'm looking for people who have experienced similar situations and how did you handle it? Has anyone successfully changed personality traits and how did you do it?Has anyone had the experience of successfully overcoming an inborn personality trait in a career?
Agoraphobia - social phobia used to stop me from getting careers, then i developed a fear of getting sick at work. It takes time, to keep telling yourself it's ok and to consiously say ';stop'; to yoursefl when negative or unhealthy thoughts pop up. Also, prayer helps, too. I'm going to Celebrate Recovery at a local church and it's helped more than therapy. It helps to think one day at a time and to remember to relax. listen, you can email me if you want , for more. Take care of yourself
