Depends on the disorder. I personally know people who have PD's, and you would never know they are anything more than shy.How do people with personality disorder act? Can a therapist help them?
They actually do say very inappropriate things because they just don't care much about what anyone has to say. It's a pathological apathy towards conformity and social norms.



For example, people with schizophrenia will laugh at very inappropriate times, like if you were telling him a tragic story, they would just burst out in laughter.



having a personality disorder makes you deviant (abnormal) from what society expects of you...and you disregard many values of society. Which also includes friendships, you will hurt people without really knowing it or caring.
